Passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009 after a long battle with heart disease. Age 68 years. David was born on April 22, 1941 in Saginaw to the late Alleyne Tinglan Gray and Lewis R. Tinglan. Dave grew up on the family farm in Vassar and was a graduate of Vassar High School. He was employed at and retired from Saginaw Steering Gear. He loved Civil War history, model airplane building, antiques, western movies, Zane Grey novels and was an avid reader. He was a quietly religious person who believed in living his faith by helping others in need. He was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Dave was a kind and generous man who will be missed by all. He is survived by his daughter Bethany, brother Donald (Kathleen) Tinglan of Saginaw, sisters Carol Johnson of Saginaw, Linda (George) Jupin of Alexandria, VA, brother-in-law Gerald Johnson, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Funeral services will take place Thursday, September 24, 2009 at 11:00a.m. at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 720 Tuscola St., Saginaw. Rev. Judith Boli will officiate with burial at Riverside Cemetery in Vassar. Friends may call at the W.L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 409 Adams St. on Wednesday from 3:00-8:00p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
