Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 21, 2009. Age 84 years. Mary Louise Thomas was born October 11, 1924, in Saginaw, the daughter of the late James P. and Myrtle E. (Froman) Thomas. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School with the Class of 1942. She married Alvin C. Thom on September 9, 1943, and would have celebrated 66 years of marriage next month. Mr. and Mrs. Thom moved to Montcalm County nearly eleven years ago. She enjoyed china painting, sewing and cooking. She loved spending time with her family, especially her only grandchild, Charlie B. Surviving are her husband, Alvin C. Thom; two sons, Alvin C. “Chuck” Thom and Mark E. Thom; one daughter, son-in-law and grandson, Patricia A. (Thom) and Larry Buskirk, and their son, Charles Thomas Buskirk; one brother, James P. Thomas and his wife Robin; several nieces, nephews, and their families. She was predeceased by her brother, Frank Thomas, and her sisters, Margaret Federspiel, Grace Louise Thomas, and Connie Findlay. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 24, 2009, at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 409 Adams St., Saginaw, MI 48602, where her family will receive friends from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, and from 12:00 noon Monday until the time of service.
