Ruth C. Shear, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend passed away Thursday, September 17, 2009, at her home. Age 94 years. Ruth C. Bennett was born June 1, 1915 in Caro, Michigan, the daughter of the late William and Catherine (Shaw) Bennett. She married Kenneth Raymond Shear on January 1, 1939, where her new life started. Prior to her marriage, she graduated from Nursing School, and did her internship at Detroit Children’s Hospital. Throughout her life, she was employed as a registered nurse, working at Dow Chemical, Saginaw General Hospital, and St. Luke’s Hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed rose gardening. Her husband Kenneth predeceased her December 21, 1990. Surviving are two children and one granddaughter: son Kenneth Robert Shear and his wife Linda, Bay City; daughter Sue Baber and her husband, Robert Monty, and her daughter, Leann Baber, all of Colorado; two sisters, Ruby Barrow and Reita Tait Wilson; many nieces, nephews and their families. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Neil, Amos, Douglas and Ivan. Private committal has taken place. Arrangements by W. L. Case & Company Funeral Directors.
