Mrs. Shirley A. Savage, Midland, Michigan

Passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 6, 2009, at the MidMichigan Medical Center, Midland.  Age 73 years.  Shirley Ann Clark was born on February 27, 1936, in Mishawaka, Ind. to the late Glen A. and Marguerite Ann Clark.  She was married to Pat Dale Savage on July 28, 1955, and he predeceased her on September 17, 1993.  Prior to her retirement, Shirley was employed as a social worker with the Veteran’s Administration.  She served two years in the US Marine Corps where she met her husband.  She loved to play Bingo and cards, especially Rummy with her grandchildren, and she loved to listen to music, mostly Michael Jackson and Los Lonely Boys.  She had a special cat, Bailey, who was her constant companion.  Surviving are two daughters, Sherie (Robert) Anderson of Wisc.; Patricia (Paul) Lickman, Midland; one sister, Audrey Holland of Texas; one special son-in-law, John Vasquez (and his fiancée Jennifer Woodward, and her daughter, Aliana), all of Midland; eight grandchildren, Phyllis (Christopher) Ramirez, Freeland; Robert Newman, Bridgeport; Diana Newman (and her fiancé Jay), Bridgeport; Christina (Christopher) Brown, Freeland; Stephen Pat Vasquez, Midland; Ryan (Vicki) Anderson; April Anderson; Sabrina Anderson, all of Wisc.; nine great-grandchildren; two very special nieces, Vicki and her husband Ken of Indiana, Denise of Texas; two special nephews, James and Lee Clark of Mich; and several other nieces and nephews.  She was also predeceased by one daughter, Diane Newman, her twin children, Stephen and Stephan Savage.  Services will take place at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 2009, at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N.
