Irma Irene Roeske entered her Heavenly home September 10, 2009, at the James E. Cartwright Residence. Irma was born on December 28, 1921 at Hubbard Lake, Michigan, to Alex and Theresa (Schultz) Hoeberling. She was their beloved first-born child. Irma grew to adulthood at Hubbard Lake, with her brother Reinhold “Stony”. At age sixteen, Irma met Emanuel “Manuel” Mohr and it was love at first sight for her. They married on February 3, 1940. After nearly 22 years of marriage, he was suddenly taken to his heavenly home in January 1962. Irma married Walter Roeske, on May 30, 1963. They enjoyed traveling, dining out, and visiting family and friends. Walter was injured at work in 1971 and became disabled. They spent every day together after that injury. After 36 years of marriage, Walter predeceased her on July 25, 1999. Irma was an excellent seamstress and retired from Dapper-Do as a floor supervisor in 1971. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, dining out and visiting the Dollar Store with her friend, Donna, until macular degeneration severely limited her sight. Irma resided at Wescourt Retirement Community for six years, and then became a resident at the James E. Cartwright Residence for the last seven months of her life. Irma leaves her brother, Reinhold “Stony”(Betty) Hoeberling, Warren, Michigan; Nephews, Ronald (Sharon) Hoeberling, Yukon, Oklahoma; Alan Hoeberling, Eastpointe, Michigan; Stepdaughter, Kathleen (Michael) Risinger, Bridgeport, Michigan; Stepson, Larry Roeske, Saginaw, Michigan; Four Step grandchildren, Kenneth Roeske, James Popp, Jaclyn and Jeanette Roeske; Two step great-granddaughters, Abigail Fender-Popp and Madison Popp. She also leaves dear friends, Donna VanBocxlaer, Leo and Louise Herzog, Jenny Ellis, Barbara VanAanhold, Ruth Schisler, and Timothy Baldwin. A dear friend, Veronica Carroll, predeceased her on July 27, 2009. Irma was also predeceased by her parents, several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Thank you to “Irma’s Angels,” at the James E. Cartwright Residence. They are truly angels on Earth. They cared for and loved Irma as their own. Thank you, also, to Chaplain Cathy from the Cartwright Residence and Pastor Timothy Kolb, for their spiritual care and prayers. Arrangements entrusted to W.L. Case and Company; 4480 Mackinaw; Saginaw, Michigan. Visitation will be on Sunday, September 13, 2009 from 4pm to 8pm, where the family will be present. Funeral and committal service will take place at W.L Case and Company Funeral Home, Monday, September 14, 2009, at 11am with visitation from 10am until the time of the service. Pastor Timothy Kolb, of Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church, will officiate over the service. Private, family entombment will follow the funeral service, at Oakwood Mausoleum, per Irma’s wishes.
