Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away early Friday, June 26, 2009, at her home. Age 84 years. Margaret Ellen Kaufmann was born August 7, 1924, in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Anton and Margaret (Pietz) Kaufmann. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School Class of 1942 and received her Bachelor of Education from Central Michigan University. She married William J. Robertson on June 18, 1949; he predeceased her September 5, 1998. She had been employed as a physical education teacher at Weber Elementary School, the Y.M.C.A., St. Stephen High School and St. Mary High School. She later worked as a substitute teacher and was also employed by J. C. Penney. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Junior League of Saginaw, the Germania Town and Country Club, and several Bridge clubs. She loved spending time at her cottage in Harrison. She enjoyed animals and her many pets over the years. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-granddaughter, and the time she was able to spend with each of them. Surviving are two sons, two daughters and their spouses, William J. Jr. and Linda Robertson, Midland; Thomas and Shari Robertson, Indiana, PA; Jane and Charlie Kiel, Lake Isabella, MI; Patricia and Thomas Baskins, Jr., Freeland; seven grandchildren, Maribeth and Allison Robertson, Drew and Brianna Robertson, Kerri and her husband Rob Mickey, and Peter and Robby Baskins; also one great-granddaughter, Sophie Mickey; two sisters and one brother and their spouses, Emily and Gene Dore, Katy and Ned Weaver, Tony and Rosalinda Kaufmann; several nieces, nephews and their families; and special caregivers, Mallory, Carmen, Michele, Barb, Jodi, Beverly, Chris and Alberta. Funeral Liturgy will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn Street. Rev. Fr. James Heller will officiate with burial in Oakwood Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, and then at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
