Fred W. Rindhage, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2009, at Hoyt Nursing Home. Age 93 years. The son of the late Henry and Anna (Opitz) Rindhage was born November 1, 1915 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served with the CCC camps before entering the U. S. Army during WWII. He was a life-member of V.F.W. Post #1566. He married Katherine L. Robinson, October 3, 1942. She passed away April 14, 1974. Later he married Betty Hummel, December 3, 1994. She passed away Dec 10, 1994. Fred was employed by Saginaw Dairy and it's successors, including the Borden Dairy, retiring with over 30 years of service. He later was employed by W. L. Case and Co. for several years. He was a member of the Bridgeport Historical Society, the Saginaw Historical Society and was a volunteer at the Castle Museum. He was active with the AARP and served as the local Treasurer. He was a member of the Tri-City Woodcarvers. Surviving are two sons, Fred Rindhage and his wife, Mary Lou, Warren, MI; Barry Rindhage, Saginaw; two grandchildren Rick Rindhage and his wife, Chris; Mandy Jo Rindhage; three great grandsons, Bryan Rindhage, Bradley Suwienski, Brenden Rindhage; a sister and a brother, Emma Martuch, Herman Rindhage, both of Saginaw; his special friend, Therese Lockey; several nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Frank, Alfred and Henry Rindhage, have predeceased him. The funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 29, 2009, at the W. L. Case and Co. Funeral Chapel 4480 Mackinaw Road. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the chapel from 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Sunday.
