Maureen Margaret Miller "McGillen"
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and cousin passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, June 1, 2009, at her home. Age 71 years. Maureen Margaret McGillen was born March 30, 1938 in Saginaw, the daughter of the late Raymond and Kathryn (Corcoran) McGillen. She had been a member of the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption, and graduated from St. Mary High School. She had been employed at Sears Roebuck for several years until moving to Florida about 25 years ago. She met and married William F. Miller there, who predeceased her on May 7, 1998. She returned to Saginaw about 7 years ago. She was an avid Bingo and Poker player, and enjoyed going to the casinos. She was devoted to her family and friends, and loved the time she spent with them. Surviving are one daughter, Roberta Rae Lamont, Florida; one son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Shannon Robinson, with whom she made her home; two grandchildren, Christopher R. Lamont and Nola Robinson; two great-grandchildren, Bailee and Alec; one brother and sister-in-law, Timothy and Patricia McGillen, Birch Run; several nieces, nephews, and their families; one aunt, Mary Rombalski; several cousins, including a special cousin, Fran Wisniewski, Saginaw. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one daughter, Kathleen Klingshirn, and by one brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Patricia McGillen. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009, at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption, 615 Hoyt Street. Rev. Fr. Richard Jozwiak will officiate. Private committal services will take place later at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Her family will receive friends at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 4480 Mackinaw Road, from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, and then at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may consider the family’s wishes.
