Scott H. MacArthur, Saginaw, Michigan

Barbara P. Frost

A great man, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, November 23, 2009, age 53 years. Scott was born on August 17, 1956 in Saginaw, the beloved son of Betty A. Reinke and John S. MacArthur. He was the cherished brother of Linda S. Jensen and of Matthew L. MacArthur who predeceased him in 2000. Scott was a caring uncle to his nephew, Max, and to his two nieces. In addition to his immediate family Scott leaves behind his loving partner, Mechelle L. Strobel, many friends and his special companion and “playmate” Gunther.  Scott was a journeyman electrician and a proud member of IBEW Local #557. He was also a Mason belonging to Saginaw Masonic Lodge #77. Our beloved Scott was a truly special man. He was big in stature, but also of heart. He was a man who was there when someone needed him, without fail and without any expectations in return. He was one of the quiet “heroes” who did for and gave to so many people but never looked for recognition.  Scott leaves all of us much too soon, but for all of us who had the honor and privilege of knowing him, we can give thanks for the time that we were able to share him and celebrate the life and the man that he was.  A funeral service celebrating Scott’s life will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 30, 2009 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State) Rev. Duane Harris will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, November 29, 2009 from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.  In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Toys for Tots or the Underground Railroad. Please share your thoughts and memories with the family at the funeral home or through
