Raymond C. Lahrman, Saginaw, Michigan

Went home to be with Jesus on September 28, 2009, at the age of 89 years.  Raymond was born February 16, 1920, in LaFayette, Indiana to the late Albert and Mary (Deerre) Lahrman. He served in the U.S. Navy on a destroyer during WWII. Raymond first married Ruth (Quick) Main on September 19, 1943, she predeceased him in 1986. He then married Laura A. (Watters) Rick in 1987 and she survives him. He retired from Saginaw Grey Iron where he worked as a General Supervisor of Maintenance from 1945-1977.  He loved his dogs and was famous with his grandchildren for his excellent cookies. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  Besides his wife Laura, with whom he shared 22 years of great memories, he is survived by his children, Bill Main and Darlene Thery; his extended family, Emil (Shawn) Rick, Michael (Sharon) Rick, Robert, Gary and Laura Rick; fifteen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; his siblings, Patricia Bray, Joan Silvis, and Donald Lahrman; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Albert Lahrman, Elsie Barton, Marcella Kerr, Mildred Hahn, and Charles Lahrman.  Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2009, at W.L. Case & Company 4480 Mackinaw Road. Rev. Chuck Seeley will officiate and military honors will be rendered by V.F.W. Post #1859 in Carrollton. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the service.
