John F. Jacob, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Select Specialty Hospital. Age 65 years. John F. Jacob was born on January 12, 1944 in Saginaw to the late Otto and Kathleen (Griffore) Jacob. He married Kay L. Hayes on November 8, 1969 in Saginaw. She survives him. John was employed for over 40 years with U.S. Graphite. He was an avid bowler. John especially enjoyed classic cars. He was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church.  Surviving besides his wife, Kay are his two daughters: Kimberly (William) Burns, Heather Jacob; four grandchildren: Stephanie Longo, Nicholas Burns, Sierra Jacob, Devyn Burns; two brothers: Harry (Mary Jane) Jacob, Robert (Patricia) Jacob. Also surviving are in-laws: Judy Jacob, Jacqui (Virgil) Moeller, Marjorie Burdge, Barbara (Herbert) Gregg, John Hayes (Deborah Plyler); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Tyler Jacob; a brother, James Jacob; an infant brother, Jerry Jacob; and a brother-in-law, Victor Burdge.  John’s Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at St. Helen Catholic Church, 2445 N. Charles St. Rev. Fr. Emmett L. Marceau will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Oakwood Mausoleum.  Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State) on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Vigil Service honoring John will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday evening. John will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Helen Catholic Church or the American Lung Association.
