Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 4, 2009. Age 83 years. Norma Jean Bailey was born March 26, 1926, in Yuma, MI, the daughter of the late Walter and Bertha (Jory) Bailey. She had been employed as a cook for the Buena Vista Schools for twenty years. She was a member of Ames United Methodist Church. She was active in Sunday School and was a member of United Methodist Women. Norma enjoyed cooking, baking, and gardening. She married Clarence E. Haiderer on September 20, 1947; he survives her. He also leaves one son, Paul (Kathleen) Haiderer, Hemlock; one daughter, Janet (Greg) Brown, Saginaw Township; four grandchildren, Brock (Lottie) Haiderer, Anna (Marcus) Bennett, Joan Haiderer and David Haiderer; two great-grandchildren, Marcus Bennett Jr. and Claire Haiderer; one sister, Donna Williams; many nieces, nephews and their families. She was predeceased by a grandson, John Paul Haiderer, and by six brothers and four sisters. Funeral service will take place 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at Ames United Methodist Church, 801 State Street. Rev. Mark A. Karls will officiate. Committal services will take place at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the W. L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road, from 2:00 – 9:00 p.m. on Monday, and then at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
