Marcelline M. Garcia, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away Monday, October 5, 2009 at Covenant HealthCare – Cooper.  Age 83 years.  Marcelline M. Paramo was born June 2, 1926 in Middleton, MI to the late Francisco and Eulalia (Conejo) Paramo.  Marcelline was an established cosmetology business owner since 1947.  After 56 years of service, she retired in 2003.  She was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School.  Marcelline worked as an assistant social worker for Catholic Charities.  She also belonged to the League of Catholic Women and helped open the Guadalupe Center.  In 1944, she served as the Executive Chairman for the Camexico Youth Club.  She worked tirelessly volunteering as a Memorial Secretary and Treasurer for the American Heart Association, was a Catechist with the Spiritual Religious Program, as well as volunteering with the handicapped children in the SPREAD Program at St. Andrew Catholic Church.  Marcelline is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen Marcoux and Gilda Bordeaux; four grandchildren, Shawn (Wolfgang) Wagner, Tonya Marcoux, Monique Bordeaux and Marcel Bordeaux; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Pauline (John) Zuniga; and two brothers, Manuel (Amelia) Paramo and Phillip Paramo.  Marcelline’s Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 9, 2009 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 612 N. Michigan Ave.  Rev. Fr. Ronald F. Wagner will officiate with entombment in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum.  Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State) on Thursday, October 8, 2009 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m.  Marcelline will lie in state at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m.  A Vigil honoring Marcelline will take place at the funeral home Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m.  Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Garcia Family Discretionary Fund.  Please share your thoughts and memories at the funeral home, church or through www.DeislerFuneralHome.com.
