Helen Joan Fedor, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on October 11, 2009 at her daughter’s home. Age 89 years. Helen Joan Karwell was born on May 19, 1920 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Felix and Mary (Slominska) Karwel. She was employed by the Saginaw Public Schools, retiring after 21 years of service. Helen was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church and a member of the League of Catholic Women. She enjoyed playing Euchre with her friends at the Saginaw Commission on Aging as well as with her family. She truly loved and cherished being with her family. Surviving are three children: Darlene (Max Galbraith) Bachula of Hemlock, Arthur Fedor of Kalamazoo, Ronald Fedor of Gaylord; six grandchildren: Rob (Diane) Bachula, Renee (Jason) Stuller, Jodi Schultz, Nicole (Jessie) Richards, Sam Fedor, Jaimie Fedor; six great-grandchildren: Kiley, Emily and Joshua Stuller, Erin and Eric Bachula, and Adelaide Richards. She is preceded in death by a son, Andrew (Sonny) Fedor; and two brothers: John and Joe Karwel. Following Helen’s wishes cremation has taken place. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Gloria, Nicole, Cheryl, Barb and Cathy for their loving care and support. Additionally, the family wishes to thank Peg. Helen’s memorial service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Kathy Teter will officiate.
