Passed away on Friday, August 7, 2009 at Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 82 years. Agnes McMahon was born on March 29, 1927 to the late Joseph and Vivienne (Farrell) McMahon. She was married to Robert J. Bricault on July 4, 1946 in Central City, Nebraska. He predeceased her on March 28, 1989. Agnes had been employed by St. Luke’s Hospital as the Pediatrics floor ward clerk, for 11 years. She was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, she volunteered at the Eastside Soup Kitchen for many years. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her full time hobby. Surviving are three daughters, Patricia (Peter) Cesere, Joan Hirschenberger, Theresa (Gerard) Zolinski; one son, Robert J. Bricault, Jr.; 11 grandchildren, Bridget (Tim) Duniec, Todd (Miriam Fathallah) Cesere, Angela Cesere, Jon (Angela) Hirschenberger, Joseph (Monique) Hirschenberger, Andrew Hirschenberger, Jennifer (Matt) Gezequel, Daniel Zolinski, Sarah (Josh) Deitsch, Abigail Bricault and Meredith Bricault; eight great-grandchildren; Emaline, Madison, Ty, Wyatt, Alexis, McKenzie, Christian and Jacob. Also surviving are a sister, Mary Jisa and a brother, Bernard (Nellie) McMahon. Agnes was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Dale Hirschenberger; a great-grandson, Jack Hirschenberger and a brother-in-law, Leonard Jisa. Agnes’s Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1310 Malzahn St. Rev. Fr. James G. Heller will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State), on Monday, August 10, 2009 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Vigil Service honoring Agnes will be held at the funeral home on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. Agnes will lie in state at St. Stephen on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. Mass.
