Eleanore S. Breitmeyer, Saginaw, Michigan, formerly of Unionville, Michigan

Eleanore was called to her heavenly home on Wednesday, October, 7, 2009 at Meadowview Manor. Age 91. Eleanore Ethelyn May Straehle was born on May 9, 1918 in Detroit, Michigan, the oldest child of Gilbert and Frances (May) Straehle. She married Edward Jacob Breitmeyer on October 31, 1942. They lived in Livonia and Unionville where Ed was a farmer and Eleanore was a homemaker. Ed died February 28, 2000. Eleanore was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Unionville, and its Ladies Aid. Surviving are a daughter, son, and their spouses: Joanne (Gene) Roller, Saginaw and Edward (Brenda) Breitmeyer, Buckley; four grandsons and their spouses: Paul (Rose) Roller, Novi; Aaron (Dena) Breitmeyer, Dyersburg, TN; Stephen (Janet) Roller, Minneapolis, MN; Jim (Samantha) Breitmeyer, Buckley; three great-grandchildren: Allyson and Preston Breitmeyer, Ethan Roller; two sisters: Betty (Lavern) Engelhard and Marjorie McCormick. The family extends special thanks to the caregivers at Meadowview Manor, Shattuck Manor and VNA Hospice for their wonderful care and compassion, to Dynecia, Catrina and Maria for their special help and kindness, to Phyllis Najawicz and Sue Sullivan from Peace Lutheran Church for being such faithful Christian friends and to Pastor Michael Allen. The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 10 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Unionville, with burial following at Demorest Cemetery, Akron Township. The family will be present at Unionville Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 9 from 2-5 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of service.
