Richard B. Boensch, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at his home after a long courageous battle with cancer. Age 69 years. Son of the late Richard W. and Amelia (Mertz) Boensch, Richard was born May 19, 1940 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married Dana L. Billy on September 8, 1962. She survives him. Dick was employed at General Motors retiring in 1999 after 40 years of service. He was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church and Frankenmuth Conservation Club. Dick loved his Tuesday morning breakfast once a month with his work buddies, deer hunting, fishing, gardening and camping with his family.  Surviving besides his wife Dana are one daughter, two sons and their spouses, Jeff and Lori Boensch, Saginaw; Steve and Sheila Boensch, Freeland; Lara and Jim Schultz, Saginaw; 12 grandchildren that he loved dearly; three sisters, Judy and Ed Nowaczyk, Saginaw; Eileen and Louie Vescio, Saginaw; Helen Chernich, Saginaw; two step-sisters, Loudeen Granzier and Loretta Gagnon; several nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by two sisters, Loraine Sierocki and Cathy Harmer and his step-mother, Mary Boensch.  A special thank you to Dr. John Bartnik and his staff and Dick’s hospice nurse, Alice. Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 23, 2009 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. James Carlson and Rev. Fr. Richard Jozwiak will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to V.N.A.
