Vasold, Barbara Ann, Honolulu, HI, Formerly of Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away unexpectedly Thursday, May 21, 2015 at her home in Hawaii. Age 64 years. She was born February 25, 1951 in Saginaw to Elaine (Quigley) Vasold and the late Walter Vasold. Barb was born and raised in Thomas Township and attended Liskow Elementary, North Intermediate and graduated from Arthur Hill High School. She then graduated from Delta Nursing School. Barb moved to Honolulu, Hawaii in 1974. She received her Bachelor's in nursing from Chaminade and her Master's Degree from the University of Hawaii. She worked for many years at Kaiser Permanente and recently worked at FOH (Federal Occupational Health) and Kaimuki Dry Goods (fabric shop). She loved to sew and quilt and was a member of the Hawaiian Quilt Guild. Barb ran marathons, was a member of Waikiki Acrobatics, and the King Kamehameha Canoe Club (outriggers). She was also a member of the Honolulu Elks Club. Her brother, John Vasold, predeceased her in 2009. Surviving besides her mother, Elaine Vasold, are her sister-in-law, Kathy (Sims) Vasold, a nephew, Brian Vasold; her niece Kay (Jason) Shufeldt; three grand-nephews, Tyler and Ethan Vasold and Jaxon Shufeldt; a special friend, Brad Meyers. A memorial service will take place on Friday, June 19, 2015 at 4 p.m. at the W. L. Case and Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Road. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. Friends may call at the chapel from 1 p.m. Friday until the time of service. A special memorial celebration of Barb's life will take place on July 25, 2015 at the King Kamehameha Canoe Clubhouse in Honolulu, Hawaii.
