Tyrrell, Richard M., Freeland, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Mid-Michigan Medical Center. Age 76 years. The son of the late Maxwell and Gladys (Sutton) Tyrrell, Rick was born February 6, 1939. He graduated from Houghton Lake High School in 1957 and Michigan Tech University where he received his degree in Accounting and Finance. He married Rachel Rocha, his loving wife of nearly 50 years on November 26, 1966. She survives him. Rick was employed at the City of Detroit where he served as corporate auditor. He and his wife also owned and operated their own business, Professional Tax Accounting, for 45 years until their retirement on December 15, 2014 that they built together. Rick served in the U.S. Coast Guard where he instructed safety rules of the water. Rick was a past member of Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Detroit. He volunteered his accounting services and was active in Neck 4 which helped to provide shelter for the less fortunate. Rick enjoyed boating and spending time on the water. Most of all, he loved time spent with family and friends. Surviving besides his wife Rachel are his daughter, Sandra Robbins, Carrollton; his granddaughter, Melody Robbins, Carrollton; two brothers and one sister, Bruce and Kay Tyrrell, Linda and Dick Roberts, John and Chris Tyrrell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Rick's family extends their gratitude and appreciation to all the staff at Mid-Michigan Medical Center for their loving and compassionate care. Special thanks to Darci and Pixie. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Thursday April 16, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th St., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Frank Voris, O.F.M. Cap., will officiate. Honoring Mr. Tyrrell's wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, where the family will be present Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. and at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass.
