Turner, Jane E., Saginaw, Michigan

Was called home to her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 15, 2015. Age 85 years. Jane E. Seidel was born on May 11, 1929, in Saginaw to the late Oscar and Elizabeth (Brunner) Seidel. She was married to William E. Turner on June 26, 1948, in Saginaw, and he predeceased her on November 21, 1981. Jane was a faithful member of Holy Cross Ev. Lutheran Church, having served on various ladies groups and volunteered at St. Luke’s Hospital for many years. She is survived by three daughters, two sons and their spouses, Penny (Joseph) Grew, Gail (Ernest) Grossman, William (Patti) Turner, Jr., Gregory (Joni) Turner, and Lisa (Steve) Jahnke; her 14 loving grandchildren, Stephanie MacConnell, Brian (Amy) Grew, Matthew (Jen) Grew, Tara (Mike) Girard, Ryan (Melissa) Grossman, Justin (Molly) Turner, Christopher (Colleen) Turner, Whitney Turner, Jake Turner, John (Andrea) Hoover, Jenna, Kyle, Matthew and David Jahnke; 13 great-grandchildren, Duncan and Rilley MacConnell, Grace, Annie, Robbie Grew, Gavin, Brayden and Gabe Girard, Max and Liam Grossman, Eli Turner, Olivia Turner, Nora Hoover; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Laura Mauer; two sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Elaine McManus, Nancy (Ben) Munson and Louis Turner; dear friends, Ben and Mary Schaeffer. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, William Seidel, Mildred Kern, Arthur Seidel, Esther Sobek, Ruth Cherry, Roland Seidel and Ann Braley; and one grandson, Eric Bowen. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 19, 2015at 12 p.m. at Holy Cross Ev. Lutheran Church, 600 Court St., Saginaw. The Rev. James F. Krueger will officiate with burial in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m., then at the church on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be given to Holy Cross Lutheran Church & School, Valley Lutheran High School or American Cancer Society.
