Tafoya, Carol A. “CAT”, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved sister and aunt passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Covenant HealthCare-Harrison Campus following a lengthy illness. Age 60 years. The daughter of the late Charles and Evangeline (Ontiveros) Tafoya, Carol was born on August 1, 1954 in Saginaw, Michigan. She graduated from St. Mary’s Cathedral High School in 1972. She was employed by Michigan Bell Telephone Co. / AT& T for 31 ½ years retiring in 2006. Carol was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She was an avid bowler and a member of Saginaw 600 Club for bowling. She also loved playing cards, casinos and especially spending time with her family and friends. Surviving are two sisters, Sylvia Tafoya Carter, Saginaw; and Sister Margo Tafoya, M.S.Sp, Saginaw; her god children, Bea Ann McManus , Tony Velasco, Justin Carter, Chad Carter; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces , great nephews and cousins; special friend, Sue Rick; special friend, Minnie Godfrey (sister); Tim Tobin, (her white brother); her precious dogs, Sebastian and Bandit. Carol was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Tafoya, a brother-in-law, James B. Carter, many aunts, uncles and cousins. The family would like to thank her doctors, Dr. Jane Castillo and staff and Dr. Sahan Ansari for their wonderful care. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church – St. Christopher, 3945 Williamson Road. Rev. Fr. John Mancini, OSFS will officiate. Honoring Ms. Tafoya’s wishes cremation will follow. Private interment of cremations will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, where the family will be present on Sunday from 1-7 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass. There will be a Vigil Service at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
