Schwartzly, Jason R., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved father, son and brother passed away suddenly Monday, July 13, 2015 due to injuries sustained in a construction accident. Age 40 years. The son of John and Mary Ann (Garbaczewski) Schwartzly, Jason was born May 10, 1975 in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from Carrollton High School in 1993. Jason played football and attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan, earned his Associates Degree in Business Administration at Kalamazoo Valley Community College and completed his studies at Spring Arbor University. Jason served in the United States Marine Corps in Okinawa and Rota, Spain. He was an avid outdoorsman and he enjoyed hunting and fishing and loved time spent with his family. Surviving are one daughter, Alyssa Schwartzly; Jason’s parents, Mary Ann Castillo and her husband Hank; John Schwartzly and his wife Rene; one brother and two sisters, Eric and Tess Schwartzly; Karen and Mike Hecht; Lisa and Dan Mohnke; Jason’s nephews, Nick, Jack, Pete, Ryan, Nick, Noah, Nathan, Adam and Caden; an uncle, Tony Schwartzly; and an aunt, Joyce and Don Terkelsen; also surviving are many extended family members as well as dear friends. Honoring Jason’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Friends may call at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 6400 McCarty Road, where the family will receive friends on Saturday, July 18, 2015 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Military Honors will be presented at 12 p.m. by V.F.W. Post #1859. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the wishes of the family which will be placed in an educational fund for Alyssa.
