Rossman, Gail (Maurer), Freeland, Michigan

Beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at her home in Freeland, Michigan. Age 62 years. The daughter of the late Rudolph and Joan (Smith) Rossman, Gail was born September 4, 1952 in Detroit, Michigan. Gail loved spending time with her family and friends and especially her dog, Buddy. You would often find Gail working in her award winning Bayou Golf Club flower gardens. Her claim to fame was inventing new recipes and decorating. Gail was an amazing mother and grandmother who supported her family throughout many endeavors. She was a very trustworthy friend. To all of her friends who have shown Gail and her family support through the years, thank you. A very special thank you to her friend, Ed Maurer of Freeland, to whom she was formally married, who has been by her side the last several months as she battled her illness. Surviving are two daughters, Joy Dutton, Freeland; Katie Maurer, Freeland; Gail’s son-in-law, Rodney Dutton, Freeland; grandchildren, Madison and Lucas Dutton. Gail was preceded in death by a sister, Carol (Rossman) Brossard. Gail’s family extends their gratitude and appreciation to the Davita Clinic in Saginaw for everything they did to help care for her that last few years. Funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at 11 a.m. at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road. Pastor Paul Hinz will officiate. Honoring Gail’s wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Friday from 2-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
