Rondo, Lewis F., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved father and grandfather passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Luther Manor Nursing Home. Age 88 years. He was born July 22, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan. Lewis served in the U.S. Army during WW II where he was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon with two Bronze Battle Stars, the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Battle Star, the Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal Japan. He married Dorthea Rancour on May 21, 1961.She predeceased him June 23, 1979. Lewis was employed at General Motors for many years until his retirement. He was of the Catholic Faith. Lewis enjoyed country music and would travel all over Michigan to attend concerts. Surviving are one daughter, one son and their spouses, Dianna and William Pflueger, Saginaw; Camille and Beth Rondo, Saginaw; eight grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Lewis was predeceased by two sons, Daniel Rondo and Robert Dembinski, and by a grandson, Robert Dembinski Jr. Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at 11 a.m. at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road. Deacon Roger Pasionek will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery where military honors will be presented by V.F.W. Post #1859. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
