Martin, Edna R., Breckenridge, MI, Formerly of Harrison and Curtis, Michigan

Passed away Monday, May 18, 2015 at her home with family by her side. Age 84 years. Edna was born December 5, 1930 in Alma, the daughter of Harold and Ruth (Wood) Guthrie. She graduated from Breckenridge High School with the class of 1949. Edna married Jack Martin on July 29, 1949 in Breckenridge. She worked for Country Pharmacy in St. Louis and with Hemlock Schools as a bus driver. Edna was a member of Emerson Presbyterian Church in Breckenridge and First Congregational Church of Christ in Harrison. She was an active member and enjoyed singing in the choir, teaching Sunday school, helping with vacation bible school and playing the bells. She enjoyed camping, sewing, cross stitching, reading and playing the piano. Edna loved being a mom, grandma and great grandma. She is survived by her children Ruth Ann Earegood, Marty Martin, Vicki (Phillip) Lumsden, Brenda (Clarence) Henderson, 15 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren and two great grandchildren with one on the way. Also sisters Phyllis Liedeke, Florence (Rudy) Francetic, brother Duane (Kathie) Guthrie and many nieces and nephews. Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Roger, daughters Linda Smith, Karen Busch and sisters Elsie Guthrie and Donna Bolt. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Emerson Presbyterian Church with Pastor Peggy Ronk officiating. Interment will be in Ridgelawn Cemetery, Breckenridge. Visitation will be held Saturday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the Lux and Whiting Funeral Chapel, Breckenridge. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Emerson Presbyterian Church.
