LaFleur, Esther B., Saginaw, Michigan

Gracefully and peacefully fell into the arms of Jesus her Savior on Friday, July 24, 2015. Esther passed away at Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Centre surrounded by her family. Age 95 years. The daughter of the late Alfred and Emma (List) Buetow, Esther was born May 28, 1920 in Reese, Michigan and graduated from Reese High School in 1938. She married Orius LaFleur on August 10, 1940 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Reese. He predeceased her April 13, 1979. She was a pillar of courage, strength and love. Esther was well known for her German potato salad which was always requested at family gatherings. Esther was a member of Faith Ev. Lutheran Church. She was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Saginaw and was a member of its Altar Guild, choir, church council and lector and served as past treasurer. She retired from Fashion Outlet after 26 years. Esther also volunteered for Habitat for Humanity. Surviving are three sons and two daughters, Dale and Paula LaFleur, Lake Arrowhead, California; John LaFleur, Karen A. Richards, Janis and Bob Kilgore, Dr. James and Debbie LaFleur, all of Saginaw; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren with one on the way; several nieces and nephews. Esther was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers, Viola Glawe, Edna, Alfred and Elmer Buetow, and by a daughter-in-law, Donnis LaFleur. Estherís family extends their gratitude and appreciation to Hoyt Nursing & Rehab Centre for their care and support. Funeral service will take place on Friday, July 31, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church. Rev. Nancy Steele will officiate. Honoring Mrs. LaFleurís wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, where the family will be present on Thursday from 2-7 p.m. and at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
