Krajkowski, Stanley, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed peacefully Sunday, July 12, 2015 at Covenant HealthCare-Cooper Campus surrounded by his whole family. Age 85 years. The son of the late Anthony and Genowefa (Dulny) Krajkowski Sr., Stanley was born February 14, 1930 in Plock, Poland coming to Saginaw in 1950. He married Elizabeth (Betty) Sawicki, his loving wife of 61 years, on October 24, 1953. She survives him. He retired from Grey Iron Foundry in 1987 after 30 years of service. Stanley was a dedicated member of St. Casimir Catholic Church, its Parish Council, Holy Name Society and Ushers Club. He was also a member of Pulaski Club, Knights of Columbus Council #4232 and its 4th Degree, Francis Reh Public School Academy Board and a Leona Group Board Member. He was inducted to the Catholic Schools Hall of Fame in 1992, BCAM in 2002 and was the first recipient to be awarded the Bishop Murphy Award for leaders of outstanding faith in 2007. Stanley was very active at Nouvel Catholic Central and St. Mary’s Athletic Association. He found peace in gardening and flowers, embraced life with Polka Music, Polka Dancing, playing cards and driving his wife and sister’s-in-law, Irene Dudek and Lillian Bator to the Casino. Surviving besides his wife Betty are his children, Kimberly Krajkowski, Stanley and Kay Krajkowski, Lori and John O’Brien, Thomas and Diane Krajkowski, Terry and Deanne Krajkowski; 12 grandchildren, Matthew, Jennifer and Rachel Krajkowski, Kelli and Daniel Robertson, Kersten and Staci O’Brien, Zachary and Katherine Krajkowski, Julee Krajkowski and her fiancee, Travis Hunt, Bradley and Claire Krajkowski, Kaleigh and Adam Krajkowski; two great-granddaughters, Olivia Robertson and Sophia Krajkowski; his sister, Cecelia Drzewicki; several nieces and nephews. Stanley was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony S. Krajkowski. Stanley says, “I have met many people in my lifetime and hope I have made a difference in theirs.” Funeral Liturgy will take place on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Casimir Catholic Church site, 2122 S. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Thomas Schmied, OFM Cap., will officiate with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, where the family will be present on Tuesday from 6-8p.m., Wednesday at the church from 1-8 p.m., and Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. The Knights of Columbus Council #4232 will pray the Rosary at 3 p.m. Wednesday and a Vigil Service, led by Rev. Fr. John Sarge, will take place ay 7 p.m. at the church.
