Kasper, Duane Edward “Dewy”, Saginaw, Michigan

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7. Dearly loved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend went to be with Jesus, his Lord and Savior, on Saturday, June 27, 2015. He had fought a battle with cancer with a tremendous amount of courage and faith. Duane was 59 years old. He was born on March 22, 1956, the son of the late Jeanette (Metevia) and Lawrence Kasper of Freeland. Prior to his illness, he was employed as an auto technician at Nationwide Service Center. Duane was a devoted member of New Life Christian Fellowship where he faithfully served in the car care and bus ministries of the church. Like his heavenly Father, Duane had a passion for repairing and restoring things. He loved playing cards and dancing with his friends and family. He also enjoyed bicycling, bowling, gardening, camping, fishing, hunting, fast cars and “curb-side” shopping. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife, Ruth, whom he married on November 8, 2007, his children Kari (Joe) Wardin, Keith (fiancée Mary Soto), Korey and Kole, his stepdaughters, Lisa and Christina Iles, his grandchildren Landon, Jayce, Gabby and Bella and his mother-in-law, Jean Stubbs. He will also be greatly missed by his brothers and sisters, William (Bonnie) Kasper, Don (Jamie) Kasper, Janet (Sonny) Burk, Ken (Bobbie) Kasper, Robert Kasper, Barbara (Tim) Queen, James (Kristine) Kasper, LouAnn (Tom) Mannion, his brother-in-law Jim Eaves, sisters-in-law Sandy Bauer and Connie Kasper. Duane was predeceased by his brothers Larry, Mike, and Terry and his sister Geralyn. Duane has a special place in the hearts of many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 11 a.m. at New Life Christian Fellowship Church, 6115 Shattuck Road in Saginaw. Pastor Jeff Ralph and Pastor Ken Cline will officiate. Friends may call at New Life Christian Fellowship Church where the family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to New Life Christian Fellowship Church or the charity of their choice. “Jesus said…, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live.’” John 11:25. www.deislerfuneralhome.com
