Harper, Jeanette L., Freeland, MI, Formerly of Houghton Lake, Michigan


Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister passed away Monday, March 23, 2015 at her home. Age 82 years. The daughter of the late Willard and Virginia (Carter) Swan, Jeanette was born January 25, 1933 in Coleman, Michigan. She married Robert Harper, her loving husband of 62 years, on July 7, 1952. He survives her. She was employed at as a real estate agent at Marshsall Realty for 12 years until her retirement in 1989 and was a member of the Saginaw Board of Realtors. Jeanette was a member of New Life Christian Fellowship Church. She enjoyed bowling and participated in several leagues. Jeanette also enjoyed traveling, playing cards, gardening and collecting rocks. Most of all, Jeanette loved spending time with her family and friends. Surviving besides her husband Robert are four daughters and their spouses, Susan Cowles, Saginaw; Nancy and Randy French, Freeland; Lynnette and Gary Johnson, Flint; Patricia and Bill Sova, Freeland; nine grandchildren, Robert (Roxanne) Czerney, Jason (Jennifer) Czerney, Nicholas (Dawn) French, Jennifer (Kevin) Allen, Nicole (Bill) Law, Kristine Atwell, Ryan (Carrie) Johnson, Graham Sova and Seth Sova; eight great-grandchildren, Shannon, Carson, Autumn, Lucas, Madalyn, Hunter, Harper and Cyanne; one brother and three sisters, Willard Swan, Celia (Jim) Schnell, Jane (John) Bourdeau, Judy (Alvin) Rueger; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets, Joey and Lucy. Jeanette was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Jim Cowles, and by a grandson, David Czerney. Jeanette’s family extends their gratitude and appreciation to Covenant VNA Hospice, Pastor Jeff Ralph and friends and neighbors of Falconview Estates for their loving and compassionate care. Funeral service will take place on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 11 a.m. at New Life Christian Fellowship Church, 6115 Shattuck Road, Saginaw. Pastor Jeff Ralph will officiate. Honoring Mrs. Harper’s wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, where the family will be present on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. and at New Life Christian Fellowship Church on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service.
