Groll, Arlene Viola, Saginaw Township, Michigan

Loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away peacefully Tuesday May 26, 2015 at her home. Age 83 years. Daughter of the late William and Frieda (Ueberroth) Kuehnemund, Arlene was born September 11, 1931 in Munger, Michigan. She was married to Bernard A. Groll on September 20, 1952. He survives her. Arlene was known as the “Corn Lady” working on the family farm. She loved gardening, birds, polka music, playing cards and especially family gatherings. She was a member of St. Matthew Evangelical Lutheran Church and of the Farm Bureau. Surviving besides her husband Bernard are two daughters and two sons, Susan and Tim Kennelly, Clio; Carolyn and Mike Hamlin, Freeland; Bernie Groll II and special friend , Jenny Kennelly, Saginaw; Mike and Janis Groll, Freeland; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; her sister Charlotte Johnson, Saginaw; her brother Arthur Kuehnemund, Florida; several nieces and nephews. Arlene was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother, Eleanor Rau, Dorothy Smith, Mildred Torka and Vaughn Kuehnemund. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at 10 a.m. at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road. Pastor Spencer Biga will officiate with entombment in Chapel Hill Mausoleum. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Friday from 2-8 p.m. and on Saturday from 9 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
