Galonska, David A., Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away on Monday, January 12, 2015, at Brookdale Senior Living/Sterling House. Age 96 years. David was born on July 27, 1918, in Saginaw, MI to the late Anthony and Mary (Kasprzak) Galonska. He was married to Helen L. Seiferlein and she predeceased him on January 19, 1995. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at General Motors for many years and worked as a consultant to Nook Industries and Arrow Paper Products. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, having served on various boards over the years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf. Surviving are his wife, Ilah Galonska (formally Ilah Huyghe), his Grandson, David S. (Cindi) Galonska and his Granddaughter Meri (Galonska) Raterink (Jeff Keizer). He was also predeceased by his son, David P. Galonska, and by his sisters, Helen Kirn, Genevieve Soltysiak and Marcella Marsette. Funeral and committal services will take place on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss, Saginaw. The Rev. Charles F. Buckhahn will officiate. Private entombment will be in Chapel Hill Mausoleum, Freeland. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., Saginaw, on Friday from 4:00-8:00 p.m., then at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be given to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
