Ezop, Janice K., Saginaw, Michigan


Beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at Covenant HealthCare Cooper. The daughter of the late Horace and Leotta (Card) Stearns, Jan was born April 14, 1934 in Midland, Michigan and would have celebrated her 81st birthday next month. She married Gene Ezop, her loving husband of 57 years, on August 24, 1957. He survives her. She received her nursing degree at Saginaw General Hospital and completed her studies at Central Michigan University where she earned her Bachelorís Degree. Jan was employed as a nurse at Saginaw General Hospital and St. Lukeís Hospital. She had taught nursing at Saginaw Community Hospital until her retirement in 1989. Jan was a very active member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and was active in the Nursing Alumni Association at Saginaw General Hospital. She was an avid reader and enjoyed music, gardening and painting. Surviving besides her husband Gene are two sons, Rev. Fr. Dwight Ezop, Fenton, serving in the Diocese of Lansing; Mark and Michelle Ezop, Grosse Pointe Park; two grandchildren, Amy and Adam Ezop; a brother, Joseph and Nancy Stearns, Frankenmuth; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie and priests from the Diocese of Lansing will celebrate Mass. Private interment will take place Monday at St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, where the family will be present on Friday from 4-8 p.m. and at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass.
