Elisech, Joseph J., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015. Age 83 years. The son of the late Steven and Mary (Chargo) Elisech, Joseph was born August 30, 1931 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he was awarded the Purple Heart and two Bronze Service Stars. Joseph married Carol B. Hauman on June 23, 1956. She predeceased him July 14, 1987. He was employed as a Nurse’s Aide at the Aleda E. Lutz V.A. Medical Center for over 30 years. Joseph was a member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church. He enjoyed gardening and loved time spent with his family. Surviving are two daughters, two sons and their spouses, Lori and Ken Cairns, Clayton, North Carolina; Joel Elisech, Hemlock; David and Margaret Elisech, Freeland; Deborah Elisech, Saginaw; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Elisech; one brother, George Elisech; many nieces and nephews. Joseph was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Rose, Pauline, Theresa, Ann, Mary, William, Frank, Robert, John and Steve. Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at 1 p.m. at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 5051 McCarty Road. Pastor Michael Nitz will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. There will be no visiting hours at the funeral home. Friends may call at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church where the family will be present on Tuesday from 12 p.m. until time of service.
