Curtiss, Mary B., Wheeler, Michigan

Passed away Wednesday, July 29th, 2015 at the Mid Michigan Medical Center in Midland. Age 68 years. Mary was born December 7, 1946 in Lima, Ohio; the daughter of Eugene and Catherine (Moeggenborg) Hohlbein. She graduated from Shepherd High School in 1965. She married Gordon Curtiss January 6, 1967 at St. Vincent DePaul in Shepherd. Mary started working at the age of 15 at Gould Drug Store in Shepherd for 5 years. She then worked at Farmers State Bank (Isabella Bank) for 20 years. Mary also drove school bus for Breckenridge Schools for 5 years. After working at the bank, Mary was rural mail carrier for Breckenridge and Wheeler. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family and rooting for the Green Bay Packers. Mary is survived by her husband Gordon, daughter Dondi (Clay) Bigelow of Wheeler, and her Grand Daughter Desarae (Kyle) Vaughn of Wheeler. Her 10 Siblings Tom (Liz) Hohlbein of Shepherd, Ed (Barb) Hohlbein of Shepherd, Dan (June) Hohlbein of Shepherd, Jan Hetherington of Shepherd, Lee (Pattie) Hohlbein of Shepherd, Gordon (Dawn) Hohlbein of Shepherd, Luann (Dave) Stanke of Clare, Helen Rogers of Alma, Patty (Jerry) Saidinski of Grand Rapids, and Mike Hohlbein of Shepherd. Funeral services for Mary will be held on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Merrill with Fr. Dennis Kucharczyk and Dr. Jerry Green officiating. There will be a visitation Monday, August 3, 2015 from 2-5 p.m. at the Berry Funeral Home in Shepherd. There will be a scripture service Monday at the Berry Funeral Home at 7 p.m. Cremation to follow funeral services with ashes to be buried at the Salt River Cemetery.
