Wenzel, Richardine Mary, Freeland, Michigan


Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at the age of 82. Richardine also known as Rick, Dickie and Wilma was born on August 3, 1932 to the late Percy and Dorothy Treanor. Rick was a 1951 graduate of Saginaw High School. She was married to Frederick Wenzel for 63 blessed years on November 1, 1952.He survives her. Rick was a 4-H leader for many years and was a homemaker. She loved farming with her husband who were owners of Wenzelís Strawberry Field for more than 20 years and also helped their son with KC Orchards for many years. Rick was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church and loved to travel. Surviving besides her husband Fred are one son and one daughter, Kris and Christine Wenzel, Sheila and Gary Halm; four grandchildren, Jeff and Stacie Halm, Heather and Brian Yawn, Randy and Tara Bauer, Tony Bauer; six great-grandchildren, Jade and Logan Halm, Evan and Tanner Yawn, Madison Bauer and Josie Walter; two sisters, Joyce Kania and Betty Meschke; two brothers-in-law, Kenneth Wenzel and Ronald Wenzel; several nieces and nephews. Rick was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Harold Meschke, Stan Kania and Jerry Wenzel. The family would like to thank the staff at Cartwright Hospice Residence and Dr. Jafariís and his staff for the love and care they have given. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 2565 N. Miller Road. Pastor Bob Allmann will officiate. Private burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road, where the family will be present on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
