Weiss, Robert K., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014 at Edgewood Assisted Living surrounded by his family. Age 89 years. The son of the late Walter and Agnes (Reindel) Weiss, Bob was born February 28, 1925 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star. Bob married Vivian McGrath Glick, his loving wife of 46 years, on August 8, 1967. She survives him. He owned and operated the Weiss-Forsythe Insurance Agency for many years until his retirement in 1990. Bob was a life member of the Germania Town & Country Club. He enjoyed playing golf, bridge and gardening. Surviving besides his wife Vivian are his children, Jill (Mark) Knight, Saginaw; Lori (Bob) Stadnika, Saginaw; Gene Glick Jr., , Georgia; John Glick, Saginaw; Steve and Julie Kern, Ann Arbor; grandchildren, Jessica (Allen) Rosso, Jason Strattard, Abby Stadnika and Tayler Glick; one great-granddaughter; one sister and two brothers, Irene Lange, Richard (Claudia) Weiss, Walter (Juli) Weiss; several nieces and nephews. Bob was preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Poitras. Mr. Weiss’ wishes were to have his body anatomically donated to Michigan State University. His family will receive friends on Saturday, May 3, 2014 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty).
