Loving husband, father, papa and irreplaceable friend passed away peacefully Sunday, September 14, 2014 surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with cancer. Age 60 years. The son of Walter Wedding the late Elaine (Fortier) Wedding, Fred was born February 10, 1954 in Saginaw, Michigan. He married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia Fournier on May 5, 1973 at Holy Family Catholic Church. They shared 41 loving years together. Fred was the owner and operator of Fredd’s Auto Salvage which he began in 1982. He was past President and Board Member of the Automotive Recyclers of Michigan and was named Recycler of the Year in 2007. Fred was a lifelong member of Holy Family Catholic Church and served as board member and past President of Holy Family Parish Council, its usher’s club and the Catholic Heritage Museum. Fred was also a member of the Moose Family Center #82. Fred enjoyed working on classic cars and going to NHRA races, especially the U.S. Nationals. Surviving besides his wife Cindy are his children, Dixie Salogar and her children Ariana and Pablo; Kristi Wedding; Frederick Wedding II and his wife Angela and their children Frederick Wedding III and Addison; a special man who was like a son to him, Bradley Gomoluch and his daughter Sophia; his father, Walter Wedding; four brother and their spouses, Joe and Kathy, Mike and Carrie, Pat and Holly, Tom and Ronda; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ernie and Joyce Fournier; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Steve and Susan Fournier, Mike and Cheryl Fournier, Kim Fournier, Paul and Marcia Kleinebreil; lifelong best friend, Tom Budzinski; several nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his mother, Elaine Wedding, and a grandson, James Frederick Wedding. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Ronald J. Dombrowski will officiate assisted by Deacon Roger Pasionek. Honoring Fred’s wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and at Holy Family Catholic Church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass.
