Tobias, John A., Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 at the V.A. Palliative Care. Age 88 years. Son of the late Steve and Julianna (Pollier) Tobias, John was born March 6, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and a member of American Legion Post #439. John married Leona (Lee) C. Theisen on October 6, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan. She survives him. John retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Surviving besides his wife Lee are two daughters and three sons, Richard and Mindy Tobias, Almont, Michigan; Diane Tobias, Saginaw Twp.; Karen and Kevin Webb, Bay City; Chuck Tobias, Frankenmuth; Alan Tobias, Saginaw; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren with an angel on the way; one sister, Irene Myers, Jackson, Michigan; many nieces and nephews. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church, St. Christopher site, 3945 Williamson, Bridgeport. Rev. Fr. John S. Mancini, OSFS will officiate. Burial will take place in Mt. Olivet Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by American Legion Post #439. Friends may call at the Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 8:30 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Aleda E. Lutz VAMC Palliative Care Unit or St Francis de Sales Church.
