Taylor, Gary James, Zilwaukee, Michigan


Beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother passed away Monday, February 24, 2014. Age 74 years. Son of the late Clark and Laura (Luplow) Taylor, Gary was born October 10, 1939 in Zilwaukee, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army. Gary married Una Virginia (Ginger) Dickinson, his loving wife of 54 years, on June 6, 1959. She survives him. Gary was employed at Chev. Transmission- Manufacturing retiring in 1989 at which time he enjoyed traveling with his wife Ginger. Surviving besides his wife Ginger are two daughters, Patrise Taylor-Harris, Christine (Gary) Leuenberger; one son, Craig Taylor; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bette Ann Burgess, Carolyn (Henry) Balzer, Laurie (Mike) Guttowsky; two brothers, Robert (Ellen) Taylor and Dale (Lynn) Taylor; many nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends. Gary was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Kent Burgess. A special thanks to the 4th floor staff at St. St. Mary’s of Michigan Medical Center and Reverence Home Health and Hospice for the love and care they have provided. Honoring Gary’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty). Rev. Susan Hand will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Thursday from 3:00 p.m. until time of service. The Zilwaukee Fire Department will have a walk thru at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
