Slivinski, Dorothy E. (Lichon), Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister passed away on Monday, February 10, 2014 at Trillium Wood in Byron Twp., Michigan surrounded by her family at the age of 76. She is the daughter of the late Francis and Frances (Rondo) Lichon. Dorothy was born May 19, 1937 in Saginaw, MI. On May 24, 1958, Dorothy married Frank Slivinski at St. Mary’s Cathedral, Saginaw, MI. He predeceased her on January 10, 2014. Dorothy was employed by Draper Chevrolet, Saginaw Housing Commission and Michigan Church Supply. She was of the Catholic faith and attended Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Dorothy loved Polka Dancing, baseball, bowling, walking, cooking, gardening, school boosters, and especially her family and friends. She leaves a son David (Sue) Slivinski, Cedar Springs, MI; daughter Deborah (Erik) Honnila, White Lake, MI; son Dale (Nicole) Slivinski, Avon Lake, OH; eight grandchildren, Aaron and Rachel Slivinski, Sarah and Jessica Hadaway, Sara and Allison Honnila, and Olivia and Chloe Slivinski; three sisters and two brothers, Nona (Lawrence) Looby, Parker, CO; Lois (Roger) Johnson, Freeland, MI; J. Timothy (Janet) Lichon, Saginaw, MI; Sharon Lichon, Stow, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law Robert Lichon (Bette), Brentwood, TN. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Peter Gaspeny will officiate. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Wednesday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
