Schneller, John M. “Huntz”, Saginaw, Michigan

Passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014, at HealthSource Saginaw. Age of 90 years. John was born May 24, 1924, in Saginaw, to the late Joseph and Mary (Ackerman) Schneller. He married Vera Draves on October 18, 1947, in Saginaw. She survives him. John served in the U.S. Marines Corps during WWII. Prior to his retirement, John was employed at Ferrel Ross as a wood carpenter. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Washington Society and the American Legion 439. Surviving besides his wife, Vera, is one son, Michael J. (Sharon K.) Schneller; grandchildren, Todd M. (Joy N.) Schneller, Brian M. (Jennifer P.) Schneller, Chad M. Schneller, Rick (Tammy) Gifford, Rebecca (Juan) Jimenez; great-grandchildren, Anna (Josh) Miner, Katherine, Brian, Jarrod, and Mario Schneller, Sydney Gifford, and Christian Fiting; great-great-grandchild, Caleb Miner; brother-in-law, Jack Greene and sister-in-law, Dorothy Draves; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Norm and Joyce Krogman, and Joe and Janet Coppolino. John was predeceased by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Theresa and Joseph Dzrojkoski, Jean “Tootie” and David Niederquell, JoAnn Greene, brothers and sisters-in-law, John and Elaine Fauver, and Loren “Sonny” Draves, special cousins, Joseph and Cecile Schneller. Funeral Service will take place on Monday, December 15, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 1020 Court St. The Rev. William Brassow will officiate with entombment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with military honors conducted under the auspices of the American Legion 439. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave., on Sunday from 2:00-8:00 p.m., then at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or donor’s choice.
