Pietrzak, Eugenia (Jean), Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 at her home. Age 96 years. The daughter of the late Frank and Solomea (Slivinski) Karczewski, Jean was born on August 11, 1917 in Bay City, Michigan. Jean married Alex Pietrzak on June 17, 1939. He predeceased her on January 13, 1986. She was a Gift and Thrift Shop Volunteer at St. Mary’s Medical Center and just recently received her 50 year pin. Jean was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, Women’s Auxiliary at Pulaski Club and Polish Falcons of America. She thoroughly enjoyed polka dancing, crossword puzzles and crocheting. Surviving are one son and one daughter, Gary and Jean Pietrzak, Brighton; Anne and Bill Price, Hinckley, Illinois; three grandchildren, Jon (Jen) Pietrzak , Michael Pietrzak and Sally (Mark) Kissling; four great-grandchildren, Matthew and Chloe Pietrzak and Justin and Abby Kissling. Jean was preceded in death by a son, Richard Pietrzak. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at 10:00 at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Rev. Steve Gavit and Rev. Fr. Richard Jozwiak will officiate. Private entombment will take place in Mt. Olivet Mausoleum. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. There will be a Vigil Service, led by Rev. Fr. Richard Jozwiak, at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
