Patrick Sr., William R., Saginaw, Michigan


Passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014, at the Toni and Trish House in Auburn, MI., at the age of 90 years. He was born on June 30, 1924 in Saginaw to the late William H. and Flora (Voit) Patrick. Bill served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theatre and was wounded in action, receiving the Purple Heart. Prior to his retirement, Bill worked as a carpenter within the construction field. Bill was married to Esther K. Huber on July 22, 1961, and she predeceased him on December 27, 2003. Bill was a member of the American Legion Post #22, 40/8 Voyageur 600, and the carpenters union. Bill is survived by his children, William (Barb) Patrick, Jr., Beaverton; Donna Kern, Saginaw; Michael Patrick, Saginaw; Sherry (Michael) Knezek, Saginaw; Jeffrey (Jeanne) Patrick, Jones, MI; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his sisters, Lorraine Govier and Dorothy Patrick, his daughter, Kathleen Hill, sons-in-law, Fred Kern and Clinton Hill. Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc., 1218 N. Michigan Ave. Rev. David Naumann will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens where military honor guard will be conducted under the auspices of American Legion Post 22. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Wakeman Funeral Home, Inc. on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
