Malott, Genevieve E. (Jean), Saginaw, Michigan

Loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at her home with her family at her side. Age 86 years. The daughter of the late Walter and Sophia (Kalinowski) Esmer, Jean was born February 21, 1928 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Leonard P. Malott Jr., her loving husband of 66 years, on October 25, 1947. He survives her. Jean was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was actively involved in the family business, Malott Coin Vending. Jean also enjoyed gardening and spending time with family and friends, especially at their cottage at Canadian Lakes. Surviving besides her husband Leonard are five sons, David and Karen Malott, Sarasota, Florida; Daniel Malott, Saginaw; Len III and Arlene Salay, Waterford; Dean Malott, Saginaw; Patrick Malott and Jamie Lasecki, Saginaw; former daughters-in-law, Korrin Hill and Celeste Gerard; grandchildren, Lindsay and Morgan (Niv) Goldman, Margaret (Aaron) Gottlieb, Alexis (Jimmy) Bruce, Jane Malott, Daniel (Bethany) Malott, Joseph Malott and Liz Colpean, Graham Malott and Mason Malott; great-grandchildren, Daniel Malott III, Tatum Bruce, Dylan and Sawyer Gottlieb; a sister-in-law, Eve Esmer; several nieces and nephews including Dr. Kenneth and Sue Suppes. Jean was preceded in death by a brother, Walter, and by a sister, Helen Suppes. Honoring Mrs. Malott’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Funeral Liturgy will take place on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Marcel Portelli will officiate. Friends may call at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where the family will be present on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass.
