Ludwig, Mary Ellen (Nanny), Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed away suddenly Sunday, October 12, 2014. Age 69 years. The daughter of Alexander Trybulski and the late Susan (Bundsush) Trybulski, Mary Ellen was born April 16, 1945 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Dean A. Ludwig on August 8, 1964 and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. He survives her. Mary Ellen managed Jacobson’s Hair Salon for 10 years. She then co-owned Shaper’s Hair Salon for four years. After selling her portion of Shaper’s, Mary Ellen had developed a working relationship with her long time friend, Cathy Opperman, in a home and business cleaning service and remained close friends until Cathy’ death in January of 2013. She was then employed at Opperman Cork & Ale for many years helping in many different ways. Mary Ellen enjoyed going to the casino and sharing time with friends. Her children and her grandchildren were her life. She loved every moment spent with them and watching their participation in sporting and dance events. Surviving besides her husband Dean are one daughter and one son, Kris and Jeff Whitteberry, Saginaw; Todd and Stephanie Ludwig, Fenton; five grandchildren, Sara and SamWhitteberry, Alex, Hallie and Hannah Ludwig; Mary Ellen’s father, Alexander Trybulski, Saginaw; three sisters, Jacquelyn and Dr. Quinter Burnett, Cheboygan; Georgia and Keith Lachon, Oceanside, California; Pauline Murphy, Traverse City; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary Ann Elbers, Bob and Sharon Ludwig, Dale and Sue Ludwig; several nieces and nephews. Mary Ellen was preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph Ludwig. Funeral service will take place on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Hopevale Church. Pastor Dan Davis will officiate. Honoring Mary Ellen’s wishes, cremation will follow. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and at Hopevale Church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
