Beloved husband of Geraldine (Gerry) Rokita, Len passed away Monday, January 20, 2014 surrounded by his family. Age 81 years. The son of the late Albert and Esmerelda (Beirle) LeFevre, Len was born July 22, 1932 in New Baltimore, Michigan. God and family were his life’s priorities. He was an eternal optimist and will be remembered for his joy of life. He married Geraldine Rokita, his loving wife of 58 years, on June 25, 1955. She survives him. He graduated from Ss. Peter & Paul High School in 1950. Len graduated from the University of Detroit Law School with his Juris Doctorate in 1956 where he played basketball and baseball. He was admitted to the Bar on January 19, 1957. He was the founder of the law firm LeFevre & LeFevre. He was a member of the State Bar of Michigan, Saginaw County Bar Association and licensed to practice in the State of Michigan, Federal District Court and the U.S. Supreme Court. Len was a founding member of the original First State Bank of Saginaw and served on its Board of Directors as well as Citizens Bank, Field Neurological Institute and a charter member of Legatus. Len, a devout Catholic, was an active member of St. Stephen Catholic Church, Nouvel Catholic Central High School, Knights of Columbus Council #4232 and Serra Club. Len received numerous awards and recognitions during his lifetime including the Saginaw Catholic Schools Hall of Fame, Ss. Peter & Paul Sports Hall of Fame, Saginaw Bowling Hall of Fame and the Ed McArdle Award. He was the owner of Crooked Creek Golf and Bowling, Swan Valley Golf and Banquet Center and LeFevre’s Family Bowl. He also owned the Saginaw Gears Hockey Team. Len was passionate about sports and enjoyed attending family sporting events. Surviving besides his wife Gerry are three sons, four daughters and their spouses, Leonard and Jodi LeFevre, Vicki and Kim White, Hugh and Doris LeFevre, Mary and Howard McEntee, Joseph and Diane LeFevre, Theresa and Jim Kretz, Ruth and Dave Buko; 35 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Albert (Flo) LeFevre; one sister, Mary Alice LeFevre. Len was preceded in death by one sister, Rosemarie LeFevre. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen Catholic Church. Bishop Joseph R. Cistone will preside and Homilist will be Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly. Interment will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. There will be no visiting hours at the funeral home. Friends may call at St. Stephen Catholic Church where the family will be present on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. The Knights of Columbus Council #4232 will pray the Rosary at 3:00 p.m. Friday in the church. There will be a second Rosary prayed at 7:00 Friday. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Catholic Community Foundation of Mid-Michigan for Seminarians or LeFevre-Rokita Scholarship Fund, Saginaw Area Catholic Schools or Ss.
