Lamia, Joann K., Carrollton Township, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 at Covenant Health Care Cooper. Age 84 years. The daughter of the late Edward and Josephine (Frydryszek) Fox, Joann was born on July 3, 1930 in Saginaw, Michigan. She married Frank T. Lamia on January 20, 1951. He predeceased her on February 10, 2003. Joann was a member of the Saginaw Choral Society for over 52 continuous years. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and member of the church choir. Joann was an avid bowler and was a member of the Candy League at State Lanes. Surviving are four daughters and five sons, Janet Lamia, Joe Lamia, Jim and Marie Lamia, Sue Lamia, Kathy Breidinger, Mike and Melody Lamia, Tony Lamia, Marianne Lamia and Andrew Lamia; eight grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren; a sister, Lorraine Mead, Maryland; a brother, Gene (Janice) Fox, Madison Heights; two half- brothers, Grant (Bobbi) Fox, Arizona; Richard (Carolyn) Fox, Saginaw; one half-sister, Suzanne Fox, Saginaw. Joann was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Claire Fox. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. David Jenuwine will officiate assisted by Deacon Roger Pasionek. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and at Holy Family Catholic Church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. There will be a Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Holy Family Catholic Church.
