LaDrigue, Joan, Saginaw, Michigan

Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at her home. Age 98 years. The daughter of the late Stanley and Peligia (Sosnowski) Schultz, Joan was born on August 16, 1915 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Joan married Alex LaDrigue on February 25, 1933 at Holy Rosary Church in Saginaw. He predeceased her on December 4, 1974. Joan was employed by Malleable Iron for 30 years retiring in 1973. She loved Bingo, playing cards, gambling, yard work and riding in the golf cart. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and Local #455. Surviving are three daughters, Mary Ann (Norv) Boyd, Jeanette (Ed) Sullivan and Pauline (Chuck) Walderzak; 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Cathy Walderzak and Maureen Boyd and two brothers, Ted and Zig Schultz. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Monday, July 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Ronald Dombrowski will officiate assisted by Deacon Roger Pasionek. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and on Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass. Family and friends will pray the Rosary at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Saginaw City Rescue Mission.
