Kushner, Phyllis M., Saginaw, Michigan


Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. Age 80 years. The daughter of the late LaVern and Florence (Peters) Ellis, Phyllis was born February 20, 1934 in Montrose, Michigan. She married Joseph V. Kushner on September 25, 1954 and would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. He survives her. Phyllis enjoyed baking pies, crocheting and cross-stitching. Most of all, she loved being with her family. Surviving besides her husband Joe are two sons, four daughters and their spouses, Steve and Patti Kushner, Saginaw; Suzanne and John Funka, Alpena; Marjorie Bommarito, Bridgeport; David Kushner, Saginaw; Linda and Jim Spradlin, Saginaw; Debbie and Chris Maize, Freeland; 14 grandchildren, Chad, Joe, Elizabeth (Jason), Angela, Kristy (Kyle), Jeremy (Julie), Erik (Alison), Grace (CJ), Sam, Ben, Sophia, Chelsea, Alli and Rachel; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Jack (Linda) Ellis, Saginaw; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. Phyllis was preceded in death by a son, Gregory, a son-in-law, John Bommarito, three brothers, Jerry (Shirley) Ellis, Gene (Rita) Ellis and Doug Ellis. Funeral service will take place on Friday, July 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty). Tori Little, Pastoral Associate at Christ Good Shepherd Catholic Church, will officiate with interment in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home where the family will be present on Thursday from 2:00-7:00 p.m. and on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
