Humpert, Theodore S. “Ted”, Saginaw Township, Michigan

Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away Thursday, December 11, 2014. Age 87 years. Son of the late Benjamin and Minnie (Murray) Humpert, Theodore was born July 14, 1927 in Saginaw, Michigan. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of American Legion Post # 439. Ted married Regina E. Murlick, his loving wife of 66 years, on February 7, 1948. She survives him. Ted started his business, Saginaw Auto Collision in 1968 and retired in 1988 with his three sons continuing the business today. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Ted enjoyed fishing, golfing, woodworking, watching the Tigers and especially enjoyed his cottage at Higgins Lake for over 30 years with his family and friends. Surviving besides his wife Regina are three sons, Ric and Beth Humpert, Ron Humpert and Christie Garcia, Gary and Debra Humpert; six grandchildren, Melissa and Dave Killips, Carrie and Matt Garpiel, Chad and Amy Goodrow, Kip Humpert, Gina and John Sullivan, Ty Humpert and Israel Hernandez; “Papa Teddy” also loved his 14 great-grandchildren, Emily, Collin, David, Lily, Madilyn, Nash, Lucia, Sylvie, Zach, Alec, Max, Jace, Carter, and Kayley; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Buzz and Gen Bremer, Ken and Joyce Laatsch, Bert and Faye Murlick, Bill and Sharon Murlick, Dale Murlick, Jack and Lorraine Murlick, Donna Murlick, Terry and Donna Murlick, Chuck and Bev Nichols, Shirley Roof, Gary and Sharon Scharich, JoAnne and Bo Boettcher, Frank Morlick; several nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded by his daughter, Diane Goodrow; one sister, Erma and Bob Cousineau; two brothers, Russell and Louise Humpert and Roy and Helen Humpert; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Betty and Bill Conaway, Sue Murlick, Jerry Murlick, Ray Roof, Del Morlick and in-laws, Frank and Regina Murlick. Funeral Liturgy will take place on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John Paul II Parish, St. Josaphat site, 469 Shattuck Road. Rev. Fr. James Bessert will officiate. Burial will take place in Roselawn Memorial Gardens with Military Services conducted by American Legion Post #439. Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Road (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Monday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
